Privacy Policy

HomeGoSmart helps homeowners check contractor quotes, post home projects privately, and connect with criteria-matched vendors. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Plain-language summaries are at /trust-and-privacy.

1. What we collect

Project details you submit: category, ZIP code, property type, timeline, budget range, photos, quote text or files.
Contact information: name, email, and (only if you choose) phone.
Privacy choice: which level of contact sharing you authorize.
Consent records: timestamp, IP address, user agent, and the exact consent text shown to you.
Vendor information (for vendors only): company, license, insurance, service area, criteria, and uploaded portfolio media.
Marketing attribution: UTM parameters, referrer, and landing page if present in the URL.

2. How we use it

To produce your Quote Clarity Score, Project Readiness Score, and rule-based repair-or-replace recommendation.
To match your project to vendors whose stated criteria fit it.
To release contact information to vendors only as authorized by your privacy choice.
To send transactional email about the project you submitted.
To improve the platform and measure marketing effectiveness.

3. When and how we share contact info

Your phone number is never shared with vendors unless you explicitly choose a privacy option that authorizes it. Every contact release event is logged with the consent record that authorized it. You can email privacy@homegosmart.com to withdraw consent or request deletion.

4. Vendors

Approved vendors review opportunities that match their stated criteria and decide whether to accept, reject, or request more information. Vendors do not bid against each other; they respond to project details that fit their service area, project type, minimum project value, and availability.

5. Storage and security

Data is stored in Supabase Postgres with row-level security enabled and a separate homegosmart schema. Uploaded files are stored in private buckets and served only via short-lived signed URLs. Service-role credentials are held server-side only.

6. Your choices

You can submit a quote check or repair-or-replace assessment without providing your phone number.
You can post a project privately and never authorize contact release.
You can request access to, or deletion of, your data at privacy@homegosmart.com.

7. Children

HomeGoSmart is not directed to anyone under 18 and does not knowingly collect information from minors.

8. Changes

If we materially change this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
