Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. What HomeGoSmart is
HomeGoSmart is a software service that helps homeowners check contractor quotes, post projects privately, and connect with criteria-matched vendors. HomeGoSmart is not a contractor and does not perform home services. Hiring, contracting, payment, scope of work, scheduling, and quality of completed work are matters between homeowner and vendor.
2. Use by homeowners
- You must be 18 or older and legally able to authorize work on the property described.
- Information you submit must be accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- Always verify a vendor's license, insurance, references, and written contract before hiring.
- HomeGoSmart's scores and recommendations are decision-support tools, not professional advice.
3. Use by vendors
- You must hold any license and insurance required by law in the jurisdictions where you offer services.
- Information you submit about your business, criteria, and capabilities must be accurate.
- You may only contact homeowners through channels and at times authorized by their privacy choice.
- Sponsored placements are clearly labeled and do not affect criteria-based fit scoring.
4. Privacy and consent
See the Privacy Policy. Contact information is released to vendors only with the homeowner's logged consent.
5. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. HomeGoSmart does not guarantee the availability, response time, pricing, workmanship, licensure, insurance, or outcomes of any vendor. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HomeGoSmart's aggregate liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid HomeGoSmart in the prior twelve months, which during the pilot is zero for homeowners.
6. Communications
By providing your email or phone, you consent to receive transactional messages about projects, quotes, vendor responses, and contact releases you initiate. Marketing communications are opt-in and you can unsubscribe at any time.
7. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, fraud, or violation of these terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. We will update the date above and, for material changes, provide notice where appropriate.
